Dodgers’ Mookie Betts is a Good Baseball Player

The Dodger’s stud Mookie Betts is having one of his best seasons in Los Angeles.

Betts is swinging the bat with force this year. He added another highlight to his name hitting a career-high 33rd homers against the Padres on Saturday night.

"I think if you would have asked who's going to lead our team in homers this year, I don't think Mookie would have been many people's first choice," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said. "But he's having a tremendous MVP-type season. And he can still get a hit, take a walk, control the strike zone. Those are all the ingredients you want from an elite player."

It’s no surprise Betts is having an electrifying season. Truthfully, he has always been a really good baseball player even during his (2014-2019) tenure in Boston.

Boston drafted him in the fifth round in 2011. He made his MLB debut in 2014 and began to make a name for himself. In 2018, he made history becoming the first player to win Most Valuable Player, Gold Glove, Silver Slugger, batting title and World Series all in the same season. Betts also had a career high of 113 RBI’s with Boston in 2016.

That explains why the Dodgers snagged him but Boston should be ashamed of themselves to let a talent of that caliber vanish.

Not so much has changed for the 29-year old since switching jersey’s; different city same success. Betts has become a Dodger’s favorite in his three years with the organization. He has made the All-Star team twice and instantly brought the swagger to the lineup that has been missing.

That said, the Dodger’s has another MVP on their roster. Betts is one of the most valuable players in the league. This season alone, Betts batting average is .282, runs batted in 74, stolen bases 12, home runs 33 (5th in the league) and on a pace to hit 40 homers this year.

This has to go down as one of the Dodgers best signings ever. Betts has been worthy of the $365 million the Dodgers awarded him since his arrival.

At the moment, Betts is the best player in the league. Not even debatable.
